Children's Museum Day

Blueberry waffles and bacon were a hit for breakfast.  Hannah and Abby decided to wear their GCC t-shirts; Caroline and Micah chose yellow for their Children's Museum outing.  The craft table in the entryway was a huge success.  Much colored and patterned duct tape now adorns many boxes and cylindrical containers.

At the Children's Museum, we stopped for a picture in front of the bumblebee transformer, which actually turned out to be an important part of our day.

Stopping for hugs with CM Dinosaur...
Waiting our turn for the carousel....
The "grownups" decided not to ride horses....
...but the children loved the "up and down ones" ...
Hot Wheels exhibit is back!  The girls have got their cars all ready to go down the ramp.
With absolutely no preparation and only a partial watching of a girl ahead of him, Micah jumped right in to try to have himself "transformed" into a bumblebee transformer.  Later, he came back for another shot and did super!

Hannah showed her toughness and bravery by going next, and doing a really good job.

Miss Caroline had been watching and analyzing all the time - she did a great job!

We didn't think Abby was even interested in trying - another boy got in ahead of her - but it turned out she really wanted to do it.  Hannah, Micah, Caroline and Papa all are watching.  We didn't expect much, and when you watch the first Abby warmup video you can see she's kind of loosey-goosey!  Another dad was watching her and obviously didn't have much of an expectation.  He sure was surprised!

Abby surprised everyone by doing an outstanding job!  We were  proud of her.
 Here's the actual transformer part.

The little girls, 8 days apart in age, are becoming fast buddies.
They really wanted Nana to take a picture of their dancing in the music room at Playscape.

Now we come to an impromptu segment that began in the car on the way home.  Here's the gist of the conversation:
"Hey guys, wanna play placeman?"
"What's placeman?"
"you know, the people who put people in Jail."
"PoLICEman!"
"Ok, we have to make tickets."
"Yeah, we have to nab Papa because he tackles people."
"No, tickles."
"Ok, he's going to need a lot of money to get out of jail.  And we have to take his picture."
"Guys!  I know totally what we should do!  We'll put Papa in jail in the basement!"
"And when he gets out, no more tickling!"
And here is the paper with which Papa was served when we arrived home:
NaMe  Dick Gurley
how many monyy 2000   When you get oytof jalle no tickleing.
From: Caroline and micah
And here you see the policemen putting Papa in jail under blankets and behind chairs.
This obviously restricts the prisoner's access....
 The triumphant prison guards...
Papa did the mobile craft (thanks, Aunt Laurie!) with the gang while Nana cooked dinner...
And since God made light on the first day of creation, we made some pretty cool lights ourselves...
