First Evening of Camp 2015

Camp did not actually begin until this evening, but Julie, Caroline and Abby were already here.  So, while Papa took Laurie and Ezra over to Ohio to meet Uncle Scott and pick up Micah and Hannah, Julie and Nana took Caroline and Abby to Connor Prairie.  This is a real working 1836 farm/homestead.  We got to go to a "wedding", the girls tried out the very scratchy lumpy beds, and intently watched the pottery making.  God held off the rain for us, and we had a blast!

Papa arrived with Micah and Hannah, just in time for dinner.  Here are the four GGC campers: Micah, Hannah, Caroline, and Abby.
After dinner we took a bag of trash out to bury it in Papa's compost pile.  Papa shoveled out a place, we looked at all the stuff in the garbage, buried it, Papa shoveled it over, and we dumped several buckets of water on it.  We will see what happens! [and Nana forgot to take a picture]

Next we took our bags upstairs to get settled.  Abby and Hannah were SO excited about their shirts ("This is Adorable, Nana!"), folders, candy, and all the cool stuff.
Micah and Caroline just had to try out their flashlights.
Papa and Nana will probably need their whistles quite often...
We ended the evening with Bible stories on the first two days of creation.  The children knew their Bibles well and did a great job, but sometimes the questions did actually stump them!   Rain is on the way again for tomorrow, so we're headed off to the Children's Museum, a favorite place for all the grandchildren!
